Is this an old / dated D2 way that is never questioned because it just is? ? Obviously this is irrelevant to magic dmg builds since main stat don’t increase dmg.
My question is why are these guides almost always stating that vit is more important than main stat? Shouldn’t the guides be stating to obtain just enough vit to stay alive rather than have 2.5-3k hp and be a tank but take forever to kill things. if I hit 12k with enchant, would any further AR be negligible when farming an area like Chaos, regardless of P1-P8? At what character lvl / AR rating does investing in more AR dramatically reduce in value. I am curious though, farming lvl 85 areas. Since my WW improved from 4.4k to 8.8k AR + the fact that the dmg output increased by 17%. My lvl 92 sin did improve by 2mins clear time in Chaos Sanctuary since the respec. I did learn something from this discussion though. So I find the most efficient point to farm is around the P3-4 mark anyway. However, that is also the point when i start to feel the damage is too low and the kill rate is too slow. I think in general i found that P5/6 and above is when i start to feel 1700 is too dangerous, despite the DR15/LR80/P75/MR17 gear. This is not the case with any of my other melee characters. I found that 1700 works for me, and only on the WWsin since moving during the WW actually helps with survivability due to the fact that mobs cannot (ai dumb) chase a moving target and decides to target my merc/shadow/converted mob. Just to recap about the HP side of things. This topic is really to nut out the min/maxing of a character, since the end game is all about that. However, I’m talking about melee (AR), PVM, scenarios. Those specific areas / builds are not in this discussion as Vit is the best place to dump for that. Alot of ppl are commenting on pvp and magic based (no AR) and HR.
